Informal note: New 4-page ad in the SFR: "Santa Fe: City of Peace — or of War?"; report-back on 9/30 Santa Fe City Council meeting Contact: Greg Mello: 505-577-8563 cell Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM -- First, we want to draw your attention to the above 4-page advertisement in today's Santa Fe Reporter. Here is the link: Santa Fe: City of Peace — or of War? The City has become a key enabler in Trump's nuclear "domination" agenda. How did we get to this point and what can we do about it?, Santa Fe Reporter, Oct 14, 2026. It provides quite a bit of background that might be useful to you as well as to other citizens, in addition to addressing the question of whether the Santa Fe should reaffirm its prior formal stance of a decade ago opposing the production of plutonium warhead cores ("pits") at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). Second, we provided a brief report-back about the 9/30 Santa Fe City Council meeting in this 10/2 letter to local activists: Thank you for coming to the City Council this past Wednesday; keep speaking out! Related, the good people at the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) made an excellent instagram reel of some of the speakers on 9/30. We also made one, which is here. We will have a joint press conference outside Santa Fe City Hall at 11:00 am this coming Monday, October 19. We will send out a press release prior to that date with more details. ***ENDS*** |
